The city of hills in India is
Mussoorie. Mussoorie is a bunch of tourist places. It is not a city, it is
totally a tourist place. Mussoorie is popularly known as Queen of Hills in
India. If you come here to visit then at least you have to spend 2 to 3 days
here. Mussoorie is one of the best tourist destinations for each type of
travelers. Mussoorie is one of the most popular hill stations in India. Mussoorie
is the best choice of tourist place for north Indians. Maximum tourists come
from nearby states, such as New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana,
etc.
Mussoorie is the best tourist
spot for summer vacation, honeymooners, travelers, nature lovers, adventurous
tourists. Mussoorie is about 35 km far from Dehradun city. Dehradun is the
nearest city where you can reach by train and airplanes for going to Mussoorie.
Mussoorie altitude is about 1880 meters from the sea level. Lal Tibba of
Landore is about 2275 meters which is the second-highest point in the
Mussoorie.
History of Mussoorie
There is a shrub called Mansoor
which is found in these hills commonly, so the name Mussoorie is derived from
that shrub. This area was under the Umer Singh Thapa in 1803. After the war
between Britishers and Gorkhas in 1814, this area goes under the Britishers.
Captain Frederick Young, the man who was behind establishing the Mussoorie.
British military officer Captain Young with Mr. Shore came to these hills for
the purpose constructed a shooting lodge in the year 1825.

Mussoorie is one the best
city for honeymoon couples. There are many waterfalls, boating, fishing,
trekking, rafting, and many more things available for couples. At the height,

I visited Mussoorie 3-4 times but
to date, I also not visit all the places. I visited only a few tourist spots
in Mussoorie.
Best Time to Visit Mussoorie
The best time to visit Mussoorie
is started after our colorful festival Holi which comes in March. So you
can go to Mussoorie from March to June which the best time to go there. After
winter and before the rainy season. That's why maximum tourists come here during
the summer vacation of their kids. When the maximum cities of India become
hotter, Mussoorie provides a cool environment and beautiful locations to
tourists.
During Monsoon, from July to
September there is a rainy season and due to landslides it tough and risky to
go Mussoorie. Roads are blocked and become slippery. So, you can avoid this
time period and go another time to Mussoorie which is good to go there.
During winter, from October to
February you can enjoy snowfall in Mussoorie. During summer when north India
suffers from heatstroke there is a very cool and pleasant environment in
Mussoorie which attracts the tourists.
How to Reach Mussoorie

There is no direct train or
Airplanes for the Mussoorie, only buses and private taxies available for reach
there. Mussoorie is about 35 km far from Dehradun city. Dehradun is the nearest
city where you can reach by train and airplanes for going to Mussoorie. So for
going to Mussoorie, you have to come to Dehradun first.
You will get private taxies and
government buses for Mussoorie from the bus stand which is near the Dehradun
railway station. For the different tourist places in Mussoorie, you will get
private taxies, Riksha, and buses in the Mussoorie bus stand and taxi stands.
New Delhi is only 250 km from the
Dehradun. There are ten trains for the Dehradun from New Delhi, of which six
are running every day and four trains run two or one days a week. You will
get lots of buses from New Delhi Kashmiri Gate for Dehradun. You will reach
Dehradun within 6-7 hours from New Delhi by Bus.

- If you want to come here to see waterfalls then come after the monsoon from September to October.
- If you want to come here for snowfalls then you have to come to Mussoorie in winter from December to January.
- If you planning to come to Mussoorie for trekking, rock climbing, and camping then you have to come in the summers from March to June.
- I will suggest booking a private taxi or cab then you can visit many places in Mussoorie in a day.
- Mussoorie is a hilly area so everywhere cabs or taxies not available then you have to go there on foot.
- If you plan to go to waterfalls then kept a set of dresses for bathing.
- Please kept first aid items with you and drugs for vomiting, headache, etc.
